Technical Development Strategist

Responsible for identifying, recommending action, securing management support and integrating emerging trends/technologies into Sprint’™s business processes.
  • Identified and promoted telephone number mapping, enabling Sprint to provide web-based routing services for voice/data transmission, thereby avoiding market share erosion and revenue cost increases.
  • Represented Sprint, anticipating and promoting company best interests in telephone number mapping on 18 week-long internationally-based task forces and forums including Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), International Telecommunication Union Telephony (ITU-T) Study Group 2 and Third Generation Project Partnership 2 (3GPP2) over three years.

Senior Technical Development Specialist

Responsible for recognizing the need and designing a replacement for the Electronic Serial Number (ESN) with an inexhaustible identifier for future mobile handsets.

  • Developing a consensus on the format/administration for Mobile Equipment Identity Number (MEID), replacing the ESN that was approaching a critical exhaust point.
  • Achieved consensus with 3GPP2 on a procedure for developing the specifications for MEID network implementation, allowing the transmission of the MEID/pseudo ESN across the network.

Senior Network Engineer

Responsible for Sprint’™s partnership with the Wireless Wireline Integration Task Force (WWITF), Local Number Portability Administration (LNPA) Working Group, LNPA Technical & Operational Requirements Task Force, Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC) Regional Operations, Cellular Telephone Industry Association (CTIA) LNP workshops, the FCC/ICC Ameritech LNP Wireline Field Trial and Pacific Region LNP Meetings, all of which affected North America numbering plan. Co-developed a consensus for the wireless and wireline implementation of local number portability
